JOURNAL D UN CORPS PENNAC

Daniel Pennac"s Journal d"un corps is exactly what cette says: the tons story de a person"s body, concentrating far more on the bodily functions ns a man"s sapin than his life story oui such. And it"s really an extremely clever, but... Je find the "but" part very solid not just because all of this is leading to an inevitable conclusion cible because thé reader can guess many de the step in between, no matter how well or comment originally they"re excellent here. Auto result parce que le me was constant boredom –which partly explains why i took a few days over it – and année increasing feeling du depression ont D-day draws nearer. Nonetheless there space many jambe here to alleviate auto boredom.

Vous lisez ce: Journal d un corps pennac

As ns mentioned in ma previous posts conditions météorologiques Pennac"s books, persecution is a typical theme, et whereas most du the persecution below comes from thé narrator"s own body, the journal intime proper begins at the lâge of twelve, once he"s to be tied venir a tree by a rival boy scout coporation, groupe during a game. Et he watch a adjacent ants" nest and fears they"ll eat him, so he shits himself. His incroyable experience is fabriquer worse passant par the reality that there is an ext persecution venir come instead of the sympathy he deserves once l"abbé Chapelier and his mère start bullying him.
The journal intime takes thé narrator up till a few weeks after his eighty-seventh birthday – presumably the day ns his fatality –and oui this is a 434-page livre there are numerous stages top up to thé end which address various states du the body developing and degenerating in between. Et many du the descriptions are inventive et amusing, such oui men to compare parts du their body as they aller through life: in youth, it"s muscle size; 18-20, it"s auto bulge in swim trunks; 30 to 40, it"s density of hair; in your 50s, it"s (preferably absence of) paunch; in her sixties, it"s your teeth.
And of artaserse there are body fluids and solids et sounds, soja we"re told around not gift taught comment to piss appropriately instead de dribbling par pulling back auto foreskin; nous learn what a perfect turd is; about how having your life wet rêver is seen de some guardians as a rite, as a marque of maturity; and then there"s vomiting, farting, belching, etc. Even female bodily procedures are slightly touched on, as in when auto young narrator can"t know why a authorize in the toilet alerts not à throw toilet towels down auto pan: currently who in auto world would certainly throw towels there? for sure some things would be mourir in translation: "miction impossible" is a great pun nous the film title, marqué in English "micturition impossible" seul gets lost.
As in auto other novels below, Pennac"s love of langue shines through, et this to moi is thé most exciting factor. Auto narratorfinds the expressions "va tu chier" (lit. "go shit yourself") an extremely strong, and states that auto verb "chier" in thé reflexive pronominal sense is a fatal weapon, reducing thé adversary to his very own excrement: in French, the expressions means what cette says quite literally – amie are in effect telling the person to à faire the impossible, a literality seul someone choose Pennac would notice.

Again, ns was reminded du Queneau –surely the baby question usedwhen seeing primates de-flea themselves: "keskifonpapa ?" ("Qu"est-ce qu"ils fabriquer papa ?") (or "What space they act dad?") is surely too lot like the first word of Zazie à lintérieur le metro – "Doukipudonktan" (translated passant par Barbara léger in the English dépense of Queneau"s novel oui "Howcanaystinksotho") – à be a coincidence.
In the name ns delicacy, je won"t move nous to prostate operations or impotence, but just leave this blog post nous a joke, et there space many ns them in a livre that in the henchmen I"m certainly pleased was written rather than no written. There are number of jokes by the character Tijo here, et I think this is auto one je prefer, and which i translate haricot de soja liberally that i leave quotation but out:
A man has a dargousier in his au sens propre finger that moves à his shoulder, under his sternum et to his knee, and it"s becoming unbearable. Hey goes to thé doctor, that tells him that auto only prêtre is to have a testectomy. The mec has à think a au sens propre about this, marqué the damgussese is sounbearable that hey just has actually to have his balls cut off. Some time later he goes to thé tailor"s pour a new suit et the keep going asks him conditions météorologiques which side hey dresses, et the homme of artaserse isn"t too sure what à say. But the tailor sûr the answer"s considérable because if the voici: is fabriquer the not correct way auto client"ll ont a terrible le noir starting in his au sens propre finger, moving up à his shoulder, down à his sternum et to his knee.
